According to a new report published by analyst firm Crypto and Blockchain Diar on February 11, bitcoin fees are at new lows.

While BTC transactions reached an annual maximum in January, the average cost of transactions at BTC has reportedly dropped. BTC median fees reportedly decreased to 2014 levels:

“Average fees are also at levels that have not been observed since 2015, despite the fact that the total number of monthly bitcoins is at higher levels than during most of 2018.”

Last week, Diar reported that cryptocurrency exchanges closed 2018 with “record transaction volumes”, when the total trading volume on the US dollar markets on the main crypto exchanges of the United States Coinbase, reportedly, increased by 21% in 2018 compared to 2017. Over the same period, an increase of 192% and 50% was observed on the Kraken and Bitfinex exchanges.

However, last week Diar published a report stating that since the beginning of the year trading volumes on stock exchanges cryptocurrency fell to new lows in January. This period was reportedly the worst for the world’s leading crypto exchanges in terms of adjusted Binance trading volumes, as its BTC / USD market reduced by more than 40% compared to December 2018.

Also in January, the Diar report showed that the cost of Ethereum transactions (ETH) in the network reached a record high in December 2018, reaching 115 million.
